I usually fill a few bags up with moist leaves, put some holes in them with a garden fork, and leave them out of sight behind the shed for 12 months or so until all that is left is dark black soil. I tend to use a couple of wide-flat leaf rakes now, one in each hand and pinch the piles together like a couple of huge claws and lift into bin or bag that way. Autumn can be a beautiful season with trees and shrubs providing a stunning colourful backdrop to our gardens.

The teeth on the bottom of the rake ensure a more thorough clean up, and the two hinged scoops come together so you can move a hefty amount of garden waste. Sometimes, these glove grabbers are so large that you don’t have to bend down far to pick up the leaves. Exceptions to this are postcodes in the Scottish Highlands such as AB37-38, AB41-56 and IV and on the mainland KW1-14, PA21-40, PH15-26, PH30-41, PH49-50 and KW1-14.The Long Handed Leaf Grabber is made from lightweight steel and has soft foam handles making it comfortable to use even after prolonged periods of using it. This Long Handled Leaf Grabber is the quick and effortless way to gather up garden debris including leaves, grass cuttings and twigs.

Also for convenience, there’s a hole to hang the leaf grabbers up on a hook in your storage shed or garage to keep them out of the way and in sight so you don’t lose them.

Keeping our lawns and paths clear of leaves and garden debris can become a gruelling task, particularly in the autumn months. Great for using after raking your leaves up with a Darlac Telescopic Expanding Rake to easily transfer your garden waste into a wheelbarrow or bag. The tough polypropylene blades make light work of leaves and grass cuttings and the heavy duty steel handles are plastic coated for a longer life.

Then the nut and bolt wear loose, so you need to replace the nut with a wing nut so they can be constantly tightened, then the bolt wears through the metal and they become so loose they are useless. The Draper Tools Long Handled Leaf Grabber is a grabber with two U-shaped handles that increase its sturdiness, which when compared to my Darlac which has single handles, does make it maybe feel a little better and more capable for large areas but it’s more expensive but probably worth the extra cost. I used them for 10 mins then chucked them in the back of the Landy, they won't be getting used again! I have personally used this model for years and I’ve always been impressed with the Darlac Grab-N-Lift Leaf Grabber. But, speaking as a landscaper, there are some common garden design mistakes that really get my goat. These are worth considering, maybe if you’re comparing against the Draper model for the extra sturdiness.
