About this deal

As a US contributor to Digital Spy, Justin has also been on the ground to cover major pop culture events like the Star Wars Celebration and the D23 Expo.

For six years she honed her analytical reviewing skills at the Good Housekeeping institute eventually becoming Acting Head of Food testing. He went on to explain the reason why we've had to wait so long despite the fact that filming on the second season wrapped last year. Lucerys' death, however, is about to blow that all out of the water, as Rhaenyra will likely seek immediate recompense for her son's demise. But if you’re hoping for some of the extras that often come with home releases like this, you’ll likely be disappointed. In some cases, they’re probably right (we certainly didn’t need any more shots of Aemma’s blood-soaked bed), but it would’ve been nice to see others (literally any crumb of Rhaenyra and Alicent before the latter’s wedding! Back in October, Bloys revealed to Vulturethat "it’s not to be coy or secretive, but you don’t want to say it’s going to be ready on this date, and then you have to move it.

Set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon tells the history of House Targaryen as they fight through a civil war. When King Viserys I Targaryen (Paddy Considine) assumes the Iron Throne, he divides his kingdoms by naming his daughter, Princess Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy/Milly Alcock), as his heir, sparking a deadly war of succession. It is going to take four full seasons of 10 episodes each to do justice to the Dance of the Dragons, from start to finish. Season two is set to be just eight episodes long, compared to the debut season's 10, but director Clare Kilner has promised they will be just as impactful. What was surprising, however, was that the physical release for House of the Dragon season 1 didn’t include any of those deleted scenes in its list of bonus features.

Now, with schemes hatched on both sides - and the kingdom in the balance - viewers will see the house that dragons built and learn how they tore it all down.

Sadly, King Viserys has hung his crown up on the Iron Throne, leaving his squabbling children to cut each other down on their way to retrieve it. Extras: DVD 9, Language(s): English, French, German, Hard of Hearing Subtitles: English, German, Subtitles: English, Dutch, French, German, Interactive Menu, Screen ratio 1:1. While you digest, recover and go back for more, we'll keep our eyes peeled for more news and report back quicker than a whispering spider in the Red Keep. Emma D'Arcy is set to reprise the role of the named heir Rhaenyra Targaryen as she grapples for her claim to the Iron Throne. At the end of the reign of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen, grandson of Aegon the Conqueror, a succession dispute arises between two of his grandchildren, which is resolved when the lords of Westeros assembled at the Great Council of 101 AC select Viserys I Targaryen to be the royal heir ahead of his cousin Rhaenys--even though she had a superior claim, and largely due to her gender. We did expect House of the Dragon to take around four months, but it turns out that is not going to be the case. The episodes are: 'The Heirs of the Dragon', 'The Rogue Prince', 'Second of His Name', 'King of the Narrow Sea', 'We Light the Way', 'The Princess and the Queen', 'Driftmark', 'The Lord of the Tides', 'The Green Council' and 'The Black Queen'. I am so proud of what we accomplished with Season One and overjoyed by the enthusiastic reaction of our viewers. This is almost exactly what I expected, as we all know GOT was an incredible TV series, the complex characters overlaping story lines, excellent Dragon CGI, exceptional international cast, mostly British, everything about it was top notch, there was no way they could replicate what was a true TV event.
