Initially announced in August 2018 as a travel retail exclusive, interest was piqued this summer when it was revealed that the TTB had approved the label for a “ Bonded” expression. Hardly in need of an introduction, Jack Daniel’s exceptional sippin’ whisky is one of Tennessee’s finest exports. Originally released for the Travel Retail market, this edition of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey is bottled at 100 proof, adhering to the rules sets as part of the Bottled in Bond Act, which was passed all the way back in 1897. This may affect factors including the product style and allergen information, and we would advise that you always check the label and not solely rely on the information presented here.

Barrels are hand-selected for their characteristics of deeper color, flavor, and aroma, which deliver a darker, richer, and more oak-forward character. Jack Daniel’s Bonded is a Bottled-in-Bond whiskey, which must be distilled by a single distiller during a single distillation season, matured in a government bonded warehouse for at least four years, and bottled at 100 proof. Thus, the arrival of a new Bottled-in-Bond expression from an established distillery with generally good vibes ought to be cheered by the American whiskey drinking public… that is, if it is any good.S. retail version bears a strong resemblance to this travel retail exclusive, I foresee it becoming a mainstay of my home bar, as well as those of many other whiskey fans. The nose is bright (in a good way) and livelier than the sweet, musty, more classic Jack Daniel’s profile you get in their Tennessee Bonded expression.

The nose is fantastic, the mouthfeel is excellent, and the finish provides just enough spice to tie it all together. Here we have one of two new releases for 2022 from Jack Daniel's, this is their new premium release 'Bonded'.In the middle of the mouth, the cherry notes have a resurgence, albeit in a less ripe, more tart form. There is no denying the value for money compared to Scotch and I’ll certainly try to find some more high end Jack Daniels on my travels. The iconic Jack Daniel's flavour is largely down to the barrels used during the distillation process. This is still closer to a barely legal rye rather than a 95% rye like Bulleit, so you will find a few more bourbon notes than you might expect.

I am surprised at how much more I enjoy this bonded rye expression over the Tennessee whiskey expression. This bonded rye meets the the classic bottled-in-bond qualifications: at least 4-years old, 50% ABV, a single producer during a single distilling season, and be aged in a federal bonded warehouse. The company knows that the barrel itself contributes an important element of flavour to the whiskey, and still makes its own barrels to this day to protect the flavour of the drink. Fermented using their own house yeast, and aged in their own barrels, coopered in house to their specifications. It delivers a big, bold Tennessee Whiskey with layered notes of caramel, rich oak and spice giving way to a pleasantly lingering finish.

Here at House of Malt, we have a variety of types available, including honey, apple, and single barrel Jack Daniel's. Gentleman Jack is a whisky of real refinement, charcoal-mellowed twice before its ageing process begins. Jack Daniel's Bottle in Bond diffuse at first incredibly sweet flavors of light caramel, wheat and hay notes, scattered with bitter tangarin. Bottled-in-Bond bourbons from Heaven Hill (at both the high and low end), Barton (from their 1792 and Very Old Barton labels), and Jim Beam are reliable go-tos for value-conscious bourbon drinkers looking for a guarantee of minimum age and potency.Facebook sets this cookie to show relevant advertisements to users by tracking user behaviour across the web, on sites that have Facebook pixel or Facebook social plugin. The High Angel’s Share Barrel bottle was named for the higher than normal evaporation (or angel’s share) that occurred during the aging process.
